KIRSTEN - Turned 14. Passed up her mom in height, continues to grow upwards, and might just be taller than her dad soon - gulp. Is unstoppable on the basketball court, in school, on the piano, and in the kitchen. Ask her about her Chicken Pot Pie. To read about this year's epic Backpack Battle between Kirsten and her mom, click here.ROB - Turned 12. Growing so fast, you can see it happening. Loved Scout Camp at Bear Lake. Favorite campout this year was in the West Desert, where he emerged victorious in an Airsoft war. Reading, eating, and basketball take precedence over homework and piano practicing. Always has a kind word, especially for the downhearted. To read about Rob's failed (but gallant) attempt to manipulate his mother, click here.
SETH - Ever since turning 8 at the beginning of the year, has mastered the art of teasing anyone and everyone to the point of absolute insanity. Adores Scouts, soccer, basketball, and has expressed an interest in tennis. Is the most disciplined kid in the house - gets his homework, chores, & piano done before Mom has a chance to remind him. To read about his (or let's be honest & say Mom's) Pinewood Derby experience this year, click here.
EMMA - Turned 7. Can argue, intellectualize, moralize, and joke with the best of anyone in the family. Takes great care to keep her room clean, keep tabs on everyone's behavior (and report it), play a mean game of soccer, and basically be the best seven year old girl possible. To read about Emma's remarkable intuitiveness for someone her age, click here.
CALEB - Turned 4. Loves his cars, trucks, and Emma's WebKins (which he claims as his own). Has tested his independence by attempting to walk to the store in a snowstorm by himself (to read about this misadventure, click here ) and prematurely opening presents under the Christmas tree. Charmed the entire congregation at church when he sang I Love to See the Temple - all by himself! Pretty much everyone thinks Caleb is irresistably adorable.
SUSIE - Reluctantly moved into a new decade. Adores her kids, even though they are often directly responsible for her coming completely unhinged (to read of one such incident, click here.). Reading, writing, going to the gym, and attending endless sporting, music, & school events take precedence - hands down -over housework. Finally began to pursue her dream of becoming a writer this year, and will soon have two of her articles published in different magazines. 2010 Goal: More Publications on her resume!
JEFF - Also moved into a new decade. An amazing, adoring, and loving husband and father. Can often be found playing his guitar and playing with his kids. Spent most of the year pouring blood, sweat, and tears into the business he opened last year. The poor economy eventually prevailed; Jeff and Susie decided to sell the business. In January, Jeff will be starting a new job as Director of Marketing at Essilor of America in Dallas, Texas.
YES, THAT MEANS THE ANGERBAUERS ARE MOVING TO TEXAS. Probably in the Spring. Details pending. If you know someone moving to Utah who might be looking to buy a great house in a fabulous Sandy neighborhood and get them in touch with the Angerbauers, you will receive free homemade cookies every month for an entire year! Until the actual move, the Angerbauers will be taking advantage of every opportunity to enjoy the snow, mountains, family and friends here in Utah as much as possible.
JEFF and SUSIE - Experienced an unprecedented year of stress, uncertainty, and change. A few things they know for sure: Prayers are always answered, the Lord is always within reach, and Miracles still happen. They have (surprisingly) appreciated the opportunity they've had to live ultra-frugally this year. In doing so, they've more fully understood the absolute truth of Carl Sandberg's statement:

Merry Christmas! I'll keep working on finding a buyer for your house : )!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! That was so much fun to read and reread! You are an amazing writer! I love to read your blog. Congrats of getting two articles published. My mother-in-law shared with me today a neat experience. To sum it up, Heavenly Father needs stong people, so often times we will be tested to grow stronger. Not that you weren't strong before, or need to be stronger, but I know He is helping us all become stronger! Wish we still lived in Texas so we could see you again! Someday...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending me a link. Beautiful spot to read about your family's year. You guys really are an excellent family. We're so happy to know the Angerbauers! We're excited for your new adventure...keep us posted. Can we (finally) see you before you leave Utah? Let's make it happen!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you all!
Gorgeous stunning fabulous family. Susie, how often are you at the gym? You look fantastic in all the photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a superb update on your year! And what great family pictures.
ReplyDeleteHow do you get your family to pose for so many group pictures? Did you train them at a very young age to endure photography sessions? Are there bribes that we don't know about?
Seriously, that was a great Christmas card. Thanks.
-Julie
Merry Christmas and I like this version of a card. And what magazines are you getting published in!? That nail clipper story should be in one of them!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this. You look fantastic! Great job, once again, on a Christmas card. It will be fun to be closer to you again.
